Some things are just beautiful. Deep, cool blue sky fading to orange around the rim like a silk scarf, trees and telephone lines like black ink drawings, a silver sliver of moon and a single bright, LED-light planet and the contrail of a tiny plane in a single second of harmony. I used to wish I could draw that, paint it, write it; now I wish I could photograph it.
You can't photograph light properly, though, or at least it's very difficult to do properly. Some of the photos at the Museum of Contemporary Art were just overhyped pretentions loaded to bending with artificial symbolism, but a few of my favorites had managed to capture that exact quality of light that makes a room warm or an alley frightening or a person beautiful.
Something to strive for, I suppose.

That was awesome. It makes me just want to draw, but I always feel ill-equipped to capture such beauty, ya know? But I guess you just keep trying! ::grins::
