Someone give me a number; I want to load three drabbles onto my first post, but I need a Dean-centric one, so I'll need to actually focus on this one.

Every single day I love my hair color more and more. I'll be absolutely distraught when it fades. It's so much more... dramatic, and striking, and I can wear different colors, deep dark blues and greens. At the same time, monetary and patience constraints don't really allow for the touching up of roots every couple of months, so I'll have to make the most of the time I have.

Painting is fun, but it does require concentration. Y'know what doesn't help? The guy next to you piercing his ear completely randomly, with a pointed piercing earring, no mirror, in the bloody art room. Honestly, he couldn't wait half an hour? Pretty much equally distracting is a discussion of all the various piercings and tattoos possessed by the people nearby, including the various prices thereof. You got your nipple pierced for $13? Fine, great, go away so I can paint some more trees. Actually, I'm working on the mega-huge-tree that takes up the right side of the canvas/picture, and then it's just the water.

I have tickets for my school's production of Jekyde tonight! I've heard it's fantastic, and I know a few of the actors and about 3/4 of pit, so it should be fun. The guy who plays Jekyll and Hyde is supposed to be fantastic, pretty much the school's golden boy, and our school has a whole performing arts program thing.

One of my friends (no doubt through my stealthy feeding her with links) has decided to get into Fandom. After panicking and making her swear blind never to read stuff off FFN without a rec, I set her up with a few rec lists and felt like a parent waving their child off to school. Bizarre.

I have been so, so busy, sorry that I haven't been keeping up with anyone's anything but I have a novel paper and a research paper and I'm in charge of teaching a portion of a book and there's this Calculus test, and when did "derivatives of inverse trigonometric functions" or "use implicit derivation to find the tangent to the line y=x^(cscx) that crosses through the origin" become normal phrases in my life?

Christopher Eccleston is going to have a role on Heroes, starting in January, so I've heard. I probably ought to consider starting watching.

I have a drabble written, but can't seem to post it to stories_100 for some reason. Putting it here to at least prove it's done, and only a week late. Sorry for the spam.

On a side note, OMG WTF CLOWN

Bugger. You have no idea how many times I've started this entry and lost it because I was stupid and started surfing for stuff on the Treaty for the Protection of Broadcasting Organizations, and then closed the window without thinking. Incidentally, thanks to Anne for the link to that, 'twas very helpful.

Erm... now that I think about it, there's not an awful lot to say. Went to the bookstore Friday and got Dante's Divine Comedy, Twelfth Night, and another copy of Silver on the Tree because I was seduced by the cover art. Which happens a lot more than it ought. I almost got Tale of the Body Thief because the cover matched the trilogy I already have, and had to forcibly remind myself that I actually didn't particularly like that book. Sigh.

(I liked Twelfth Night, but not nearly as much as Hamlet- all the aborted plans and changed minds got confusing quickly, and I wasn't entirely comfortable with what happened to Malvolio in the context of the play being a comedy.)

Also went shopping today and got a pair of deliciously long black jeans, as well as this gorgeous silver-and-freshwater-pearl pendant, which is so textured and three-dimensional that it looks like the silver grew around the pearl like coral. I have it on a sheer white ribbon around my neck right now, and it's heavy and comforting. I decided to keep my three-inch-heel lace-up boots, if only because everything else out there was stilletos, and I am simply not that stable. Even in a size 11, the base area-to-height ratio is so far off,  I'd be swaying like one of those crazy Japanese skyscrapers in an earthquake.

I'm trying to cut down on my sugar intake, on the basis that it's the only unhealthy thing I eat in large quantities. My body can't quite decide whether to be twitchy or lethargic, and my mood is... somewhat mercurial at the moment. Not exactly "Pixie Stix call to me from across the abyss!" yet, but I'm certainly testing some limits.

New icon time! (ETA: LJ is being bitchy and won't upload my Supernatural icon. War is declared.)

Have a Supernatural drabble that will be ready by Thursday for the new season.

Apparantly I post this before I even make the claim. How odd. Nevertheless my fandom is Supernatural, and my claim is The Winchester Brothers. If I ever get through this thing, I'll graduate myself up to fanfic100

Renfests really are the bomb. If there's a downside, it's that a lot of people feel encouraged to wear belly-dancer outfits and really tight corsets who probably oughtn't; if you can store your camera in your cleavage, you might want to loosen the laces a bit. Of course, there reciprocate upside is the attractive people wandering around in less clothes than they might normally go for. Mmph.

Hair-cage thing worked marvelously. And a five-minute explanation about how it's linked to the mathematical model of pi doesn't work as well as a thirty-second demonstration of "look, flippy! and shiny!"

I am incredibly amused by my small but widely varied French vocabulary. I know how to say goodbye six different ways, but not the days of the week. I can count up to twenty, ask "Where is the library?", and say "bite harder." *snickers* I don't know where that one came from, but I suspect my f-list or PPN were involved somehow.

Had another random moment of wishing I'd pursued friendship with some people back when it was feasible. I'll get over it, and besides, y'all are the best group of friends I could ask for. *hugs everyone*

As soon as I figure out where to lay my claim, I'm going to sign up for that stories100 thing for Supernatural. I didn't mention it before, but I have a hidden motive for choosing that fandom- as of yet, none of you write in it. I have some fantastic writers on my f-list, and I'm not sure my self-esteem's up to being in direct competition with them. *smiles wryly*

ETA: BAHAHAHA! Neil Gaiman is listed as an interest of the nose fetish lj community. *dies happy*

ETA2: Jensen Ackles: "I look good in this outfit, don't I?"
It's a bunch of... I don't know, some sort of body armor one wears for extreme cycling. The worst part is that he actually DOES look fantastic in it. Hmm.
