EEEEEE I have pretty icons!

I don't know why people compliment me so effusively, I am perfectly ordinary-looking. But look at the icons. They are sexy and artful and interestingly cropped, every single one of them. Except maybe the one I made, but we can just ignore that one, I hang onto it for sentimental reasons.

Also, note to self: long silver necklace knotted at the base of the neck is very sexy. It is also a pain in the arse to knot and liable to choke you. Be thou warned.

Thanks to everyone who offered advice (particularly my_daroga, and to mae for the text). I actually went back and fiddled and came up with this

which I like rather better than its predecessor. I wish the image hadn't been so grainy and washed-out to begin with, though, because you can only saturate so much. I messed around with the pic from bases 7 and 8, because I can see what my_daroga meant about having people looking "offscreen", but somehow it didn't look right when I shifted it to the left. Huh.

Am seriously considering getting a sponsored account, because 6 icons is definitely not enough. Those of you who have them, are they worth it? Are they annoying, or particularly slow to load? Can you switch back if you change your mind?

After I finish this painting (and all I have left is the water) I'm going to do a lovely copy of a picture of Hearst Castle, which will probably never be finished. Alas. Still, I could come in after hours and work on it, if I get that attached.

(Found myself humming songs from RHPS while painting perfectly harmless rocks, today. *twitches*)

I actually haven't eaten a solid meal since lunch on Sunday. I might have mildly disturbed my friends at lunch today, because I gave my perfectly harmless lunch a look that would wither plant life, then proceeded to steal little bits of whatever salty, buttery, or chocolatey things they had. Ah, hormones, what would I do without you?

Icons!

Been relentlessly iconning since I saw The Prestige, and I need some help from y'all; if you could give me an opinion on which icon out of each "set" is the best, or which icon you like, or whatever, it would be a great help. All the pics are from trailers, so it shouldn't be any sort of spoilers. (screencaps from

I have a certain prejudice against this set, because they feel like inferior copies of Cleo's default icon on m15m, but they still had to be made.

I was playing around with Microsoft Office Picture Manager's "Hue" feature here, obviously; I used it, Saturation, Contrast, and AutoFix throughout, which explains the rampant inconsistancies in color, brightness, and sharpness. Also, it does horrible text, thus these are essentially bases. Alas, I work with the pitiful tools I have.

Also, because Microsoft Photo Editor does horrible text, it would give me enormous joy if Photoshop or other awesomeness would add "the pledge" to 12 and/or "the turn" to 7 or 8, whichever you prefer, in some sort of fancy font. Feel free to mess around with filters or whatever you feel like. I would consider it both an early birthday present and an enormous favor if someone would do this for me.

I don't do this much, so... feedback of any sort would make me sing, possibly literally.
