One of the joys of my life is meeting someone new.

That sounded corny, but it's the truth. Not the whole truth, though.

I love meeting someone new- someone who is unlike anyone I know. Someone whose reactions, behavior, and interests will absolutely confound me. Someone who is so different that I never know what they will do next.

Maybe 'new' is the wrong word. 'Different' is much more accurate. When I meet someone who is so different, I love them. Not the way you love your spouse, or family, but the way you love someone who saves you from a boring conversation. It's selfish and selfless at the same time. I loved someone for being different once, but he misinterpreted my feelings, and it turned out he was different in a less-than-ideal way.

I've met people on the internet, and particularly at PPN, who are so different that I smile just thinking about it. People from everywhere in the world, of every faith and opinion. People who I'd love to know in real life, but who I'm grateful to know at all.

I think that if I knew everyone in the world- knew them so well that I could anticipate their every move, I would die from the boredom.
