the years no doubt have changed me

SWEENEY TODD OH MY GOD. Seriously, people, if you have no other reason to watch this movie, watch it for Alan Rickman threatening a teenaged boy with porn. You would have to be LACKING A SOUL to not appreciate that.

If you do have a reason to watch the movie, perchance being a fan of the musical, you should watch it because it is GORGEOUS. Johnny Depp can sing well (confirming my belief that he is god), Helena Bonham Carter is a genius at Acting Crazy, Anthony has an exquisite high tenor and is pretty like a girl, and they made By the Sea into an absolute masterpiece of comedic contrast that you just couldn't acheive on the stage. 

I cannot think of a reason why ANYONE in the world shouldn't go see this movie, unless you're queasy around blood in which case DON'T. JUST DON'T. Other than that, the music is amazing, the acting is perfect, it's funny and terrifying and romantic and morbid and utterly, painfully touching. 


Also, Sweeney wants you to. Would you say no to that face?
