Stopped by the bakery today just in time to receive, along with my muffin, the gift of a lumpy, deformed, and apparantly unsaleable end of a slab of rocky road fudge. And by "lumpy" I mean "deliciously studded with marshmallows and walnuts." Timing is everything.
Watched Interview with the Vampire today and was pleasantly surprised. Not by Brad Pitt, who displayed all the facial expressions and body language of a brick wall [albeit a marvelously attractive brick wall]. Tom Cruise, on the other hand, was a rather good Lestat. He had facial expressions and everything! Next to Louis "I-hide-my-deep-grief-behind-this-attractive-pout" du Pont Lac, it was practically Oscar-worthy. Antonio Banderas made me weep with his accent and complete lack of Armand-worthy-prettiness. I think my favorite scene was the part at the end, because it was just... ineffably amusing. Compared to
my_daroga I am no review-writer, but my basic impression of the movie was something along the lines of "hot guys, indifferent acting, a few brilliant scenes, more hot guys." Although they were less "hot" than pretty; I don't find either Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise particularly attractive when they're being all macho-action-movie, but throw in long hair and lace and I am there.
Found two print sources on intellectual property in the digital age for my research paper, which is wonderful. Even more fun was decorating the christmas tree, which is particularly lovely this year [as it is every year].

Date: 2006-12-17 06:43 pm (UTC)I watched this vid (http://astarte.imeem.com/video/TO1pHL8Z/iwtv_blackheart/) before I watched the movie, and decided summarily that I would not watch it with my parents. Which was just as well, because hello random naked people.
