Once again I am reduced to wandering the house barefoot and shirtless. I can't take the heat, I swear to god! It's just too warm, too fast. It's actually colder than yesterday, relatively speaking, but I wore pants instead of capris, which was fine until I got outside. Besides, yesterday had winds to cool you off; today was just blistering sun.

Amusingly enough, the shirt I was wearing today had a loose button, which means that I spent rather too much time giving people an excellent view of my neck, collarbones, and chest down nearly to my bra. I would say "cleavage" but I'm really too skinny for that without absurdly modified undergarments or cunningly constructed shirts, so.

Now that I've given you this odd overdose of personal information, the weather is (despite my bitching) lovely, I have tomorrow off to do at least a little relaxing, and I'm doing pretty well on the sample AP Calc tests we've been taking recently.

Also, I got a letter from the National Merit Scholarship whatsit telling me that I'm in the top 50,000 testers, congratulations, &c. I'm actually probably in more of the top one percent, but that's not, y'know, for certain yet. Pretty certain, but not positive. I got the highest score of anyone I know, and I know kids in all the accelerated programs, so.

I feel weirdly pretty today. I blame it on the shirt, which is a lovely navy blue, my supercomfyworn jeans with tattered heels and holes in both knees, Pink Floyd cuff and red vintage glass earrings and soft blue laceless Converse, the comfiest outfit ever.. It just, the combination makes me look like I really am, which is to say; no ass, no hips, thin arms and legs, basically just a long straight line. Oddly enough, today I didn't mind that at all. That would make this one of the Good Self-Image days, which is nice.

Sometimes I wish I had a bigger chest, but the only other option in my immediate genetic heritage is my great-grandmother. She was petite, blonde, and ridiculously curvy, and when she got old she had calluses from her bra straps on her shoulders. There is no fun in that, ever. So I settle for being skinny.

Boo for storms! It's not storming here, but it's going to cool down from 70s to 50s the next few days. Yuck.

*snickers* Sorry! It's just that I have about a fifteen-minute walk outside, and when it's really warm out I get overheated and can't cool down fast enough with just air-conditioning. It's alright, there's no-one else there to scandalize and I keep the blinds closed.
