I just learned music theory. The key word in that sentence is "theory", as in "In theory I just learned..."

In actuality, my head hurts a little. Major scale whaa? Chord progressions where? Although we decided that diminished chords belong solely in soap operas, so we'd play one and then shout "Your wife is pregnant!", "You have a rare jungle disease!", "Amnesia?!", etc. It was very amusing and I felt much better about my ignorance. Also I kept comparing things to painting and math and trigonometry, god, I am such a dork. Now my fingertips hurt again and I have sheets of scales and chord progressions to practice, but hopefully I will be cool someday.

Quick, I need a reason to justify bringing said guitar on a family vacation so that I will have two layers of defenses against family. Brainstorm!
