Youtube comments are the best. Things. Ever. Once you sort through the chaff of "omg _ is like so totally hawt *heart breaks with longing*", you have a decent chance of hittting something amusing.

[In reference to a clip of Velvet Goldmine on youtube, which I was watching because it features Brian Molko doing some of the gayest dancing I have ever seen in a long and full life of observing really gay dance moves, and also wearing tighter-than-skin pleather leggings]:
- "This movie is proof that there is a God and He wants me to be happy. In my pants."

Amen to that, lady.

You are the third person I know to mention Velvet Goldmine this week. Clearly this is a sign from the world that I need to watch it again.

Watch it for Brian Molko and his ridiculous platform boots and camp-as-hell clapping. Or, y'know, for Ewan bloody McGregor. Truefax: I have never actually seen that movie, even though I first heard about it maybe a year ago.

I'll probably send the Brian Molko clip to my friend with the movie-pirate brother, she'll obtain the whole film, and I can watch it comfortably with my friends and sans parents. I AM SO CUNNING SRSLY.

You've never actually seen it? OH HOW YOU ARE MISSING OUT. It's been a coupla years since I watched it, but I do remember much HOT and FLAILING.

I'm sure it is full of hot and flailing, which is why I have to manipulate Red into getting it and then watch it in K's basement, because the other option is ordering it and attempting to somehow explain it to my parents.

I've ordered a lot of queerlit books by telling my mom that they're "Oh, just standard fantasy-romance type thing", but I think that a movie would raise a bit more suspicion.

attempting to somehow explain it to my parents.

Ouch. Yes. Not fun. Did I ever tell you about the awkwardness that was me trying to get the Brokeback Mountain DVD?

*cackles madly* Red got extra credit in her Sociology class for it, and I told my parents I was there for moral support and popcorn. It was still a near miss.

OR MAYBE NOT WITH FRIENDS. It's amazing how a simple image search can eloquently convey the message "You might want to watch this alone, so you don't embarrass yourself making stupid noises."
