Birthdays are interesting things. I'm fully convinced that time moves along in leaps punctuated by short stops, so that I can cover ages in the span of a year and then be jerked to a halt at my birthday, looking back and saying "that was a long time, wasn't it?"

Here's to the things I meant to do and didn't, the things I did that I had meant not to, and everything (and everyone) that took me by surprise. I would be a different person otherwise.

HOMG IPOD NANO.

It is green like grass, after summer darkens it and before heat browns it. And shiny. And the screen is dark and it's thinner than a supermodel and I'm in love.

Does anyone know whether I'll have to re-upload all my music, or will it just automatically load it all onto the new model?

Also a set of three stacked etched-silver rings with small, pale peridots, a shirt in a gorgeous shade of deep teal that goes perfectly with a skirt I'd gotten, and a ridiculous amount of iTunes giftcard credit. I feel warm and fuzzy.

My only whine for the moment is free body diagrams need to go away, and so do the steps of a civil case and the dozen-or-so cases and precedents I need to memorize. That is all. I'll get over it.
