I take back almost everything mean I've ever said about the local library for not having Melusine or Swordspoint or The Scarlet Pimpernel or basically any book I happened to be looking for, because they stocked Fragile Things. *hugs it possessively*

It's a gorgeous book, actually, with an outer cover of sheerish white paper through which you can see the pictures on the actual cover. "A Study In Emerald" is my love, my absolute love, and with a twist that I honestly didn't expect. Of all the things I owe Ran for, I think the most is when I reviewed her Good Omens fanfic saying that it sounded fascinating and I might well pick up the book someday, and she rather insisted that I read it immediately. Because, Neil.

Yesterday was somewhat stressful; I woke up at 5:55 in the morning, took a shower, and suddenly realized that I had to fix my position paper right now or it would be utter crap. Then I took this hideous math test-contest thing; out of 40 questions I had semi-logical reasoning for 15-20, good guesses for another 5-10, and the rest was just picking random answers. It doesn't count for a grade, just to advance to the next round. Last year, that required getting 17 right. It's that hard, and makes you feel ridiculously stupid while taking it. This monster took up my Painting hour of the day, which was sad, as I'd hoped to finish the thing.

Does peanut butter last an extraordinarily long time? Because there was a jar in the closet with an '04 sell-by date but it was still sealed and it smelled fine and it tasted fine. *shrugs, shamefully*

If I suddenly stop posting I've probably keeled over of food poisoning. Ah, well. It was good toast.
