May. 30th, 2007 04:56 pmI love bandom, so very much. My Chemical Romance released the music video for their new single, Teenagers; however, probably due to the content of the song and the recent VT shootings, it was heavily censored. I mean, I can understand removing "shit", though since the chorus is "Teenagers scare the living shit out of me," it somewhat affects the quality of the video experience. However, things that were barely suggestive of violence were blocked out. They cut the words "gun", "shit", "murder", as well as "your shirt" and "pay", the latter two from the line "Buf if you're troubled and hurt/ what you've got under your shirt/ will make them pay for the things that they did." RIDICULOUS.
Anyways, I was getting to why I love bandom. Within hours of a good-quality copy of the New Zealand version of the video being located, someone had ripped it, dubbed it over with the full version of the song, and offered it up for download. I'm just waiting for someone to do the same with the slightly-different US version on MTV2.com and then my life will be complete. Eventually the uncensored version will probably be available to buy somewhere, but until then, I love that there are people as determined to undermine the system as I am.
