thewingedwordI have a sugar problem. Not diabetes or anything, but I love sugar. LOVE it. Chocolate is good, but it's not just chocolate; Twizzlers, sour watermelon slices, jelly beans, swedish fish, all sorts of things I passionately love. Not only do I love it, I'm apparantly subconsciously drawn to it. Example; I got home today a bit after eleven, poured myself a coke, and noticed I was eating M&Ms. M&Ms are in a drawer, along with the rest of the candy, and for the life of me I couldn't remember opening it.
"Alright," I said to myself, "that's fine, but no more candy before lunch."
I call my mom, turn on the computer, and sit down and check my e-mails. Surf a bit, eat a couple of sour watermelon slices, check out Married to the Sea- Wait. Where did the watermelon slices come from?, I think to myself. This is vaguely disturbing, so I get up and put them back in the drawer, then dig out a roll of tape and wrap a piece around my index finger on my right hand, like tying a ribbon, to remind myself not to eat more candy.
Check my f-list, respond to a couple of comments, chew at the piece of tape, nibble on a square of chocolate-
What. The. Hell.
I get up, storm over to the drawer, tape it to the cabinet door below it with about five pieces of tape, storm back to the computer, sit down, and about five minutes later am distracted by the loud ripping sound caused by several pieces of tape pulling free of the drawer that I'm opening.
There's something deeply unsettling about this whole affair.
