Apr. 20th, 2008 10:46 amBEST CONCERT EVAR. Sadly I did not meet anyone from the internets (or else I did, probably came terribly close to molesting them in the pit, and didn't notice, in which case I apologize sincerely), but my friends and I had a fabulous fabulous time. I'll do a full recap later with all the gory details, but here are the highlights
- MIKEY FUCKING WAY. You guys, sex god is such an understatement. He honestly distracted me from Frank about 80% of the time with the headbanging and the cut-glass jawline and the sexfaces and the skintight t-shirt. He has definitely acquired the knack (and I've also seen this done by LynZ and by Stefan Olsdal from Placebo) of playing the bass as if he were having sex with the instrument, and it's... interesting. To say the least.
- I bought the Mikeyway t-shirt after that. Are you even surprised?
- Being close enough to see Gerard's (initially) fluffy hair, his wedding ring, Mikey's space-pirate-hooker boots and dorky Tattoo of True Love, Frank's stubble and Godzilla t-shirt and the lazy curls of smoke from his cigarette. Gerard's lolarious singing facial expressions and hand gestures and that thing he does with his hips during I'm Not Okay. And that thing he did to Mikey's shoulder and neck during I don't even remember what song, nngh. The sheer fact that they were close enough to make the miraculous transformation from singing, dancing action figures into real fucking people.
- Frank's new sleeve. Why has no-one mentioned this to me? Why have there been no pictures? I feel so let down by the internet, people. He's definitely finished the sleeve on his right arm down to the wrist; I couldn't make out all of it because of the cuff, but there was a face right near the elbow, and possibly some birds, and I could clearly see the line around his wrist where it finished. It was hard to tell from the lighting, but it appeared to be blue, at least parts of it.
- ( the setlist )
Commentary, critique, and accounts of hilarity to come later once I've passed out and woken up again and my ears are no longer full of cotton, nor my legs of lead.
(but still it was the BEST CONCERT EVER) '
ETA: P.S. Also I met a boy. ♥
