May. 23rd, 2007 03:34 pmSo I mentioned yet again my desire to play an instrument, and instead of saying "That's nice" my parents this time said "Good, you need a hobby." So now I'm researching guitars. I'm kind of wavering, because I love electric guitars, but it seems like an acoustic might be a better learning instrument and require less accessory equipment besides. I don't know, do any of you know anything about this?
I'm laughing because someone wrote a wiki article on tonewood, which is making people twitchy because there aren't citations for everything. But how do you cite "North American Redwood- more richness in bass than cedar"? Record it and quote soundwaves?
I'm getting more and more excited about Sunday. Concert! My first concert ever, I may or may not have mentioned. I wasn't really into music until two or three years ago, and not into rock and popular music until this school year, but now I'm in love. It absolutely kills me that I get to go and see these bands live, be that close to them for just a few hours. And I love them, in that intensely personal and selfless way which only applies to someone you've never actually met. It's this strange combination of normal favorite-author type adoration, and the knowing devotion to one's favorite fictional character. I blame bandslash for that, but it makes me happy, so I don't mind in the least.
Toasted Skin is possibly the best summer-is-coming song ever. Or at least, for this summer, for this me, for this anticipation
ETA: Also, it was very hot today, so I felt no guilt sauntering around in a rather short denim skirt. Short to the point where I couldn't really bend over, to be honest, but what the hell, I'm young and I have good legs, might as well use them.
