So, having realized in a stroke of genius that drybrushing with a dark burgandy would neutralize and add texture to the uncompromisingly flat, unabashedly pink acrylic paint, I have now finished the painting. I signed the back of the canvas in sharpie, because I am Not a Real Artist, but I still have to stop and admire and run my fingers over the surface when I pass it. There may be pictures, if I can get the digicam to work. Next project up; a dappled, fuzzy, somewhat impressionistic interpretation of a landscape photo taken in Canada, with many gorgeous shades of green. Wish me luck.

My iPod's battery life being comparable to the lifespan of a suicidal fruitfly, I'm flat-out set on a new Nano. Has anyone on my f-list ever switched iPod models before? Do you know if one simply plugs the new iPod into ones computer, where it is automatically updated from the already-existing iTunes library? Or is it more complicated than that? I probably ought start backing up my music on CDs, just in case.

I'm going to refer to my two friends by their Shoebox namesakes, because it's devastatingly appropriate. Evans has outright stated that he has no desire to date James; she agrees that it is probably for the best, but they insist on indulging in inappropriate touching anyways- which, for the most part, is initiated by James. It's more than a little maddening. At least, seeing first-hand the effects of raging hormones on otherwise sane people, I can perhaps avoid being visibly affected myself in the future? It's a fair chance.

It's unseasonably cold, but something about the bitter wind and the spraying rain/snow makes me happy. I go out of my way when walking to crunch leaves because there's nothing but good memories, there. Fall leaves are always described in flame and yellow, but my favorites are dark or medium brown-gold, dull and common and lovely; they're crisp and dry and crackle best.
