VICTORY!
Okay, in case you think I'm being totally crazy, LJ just went and did something sane. Sane and rational and polite and respectful! They outlined the rules and regulations of fanart fairly clearly, mentioned provisions for the avoidance of further issues such as the adoption of a TWO STRIKES POLICY, how awesome is that? You get a warning now, and a second chance, which is so good. I'm not saying this is perfect, but LJ has adopted the "we will crack down on blatant violations, so keep things out of our faces and you'll be safe" sort of policy that is their only legal recourse.
As one last happy occasion, they brought back
elaboration! Who was one of the fanartists who got suspended without warning last time, if you didn't know. I am so happy. In the end, I really don't want to leave this place. LJ's greatest asset is that it is Home, and if they realize that and stop trying to destroy it, we should all get along splendidly.
